Review: Check Out the Revamped 2025 Lexus UX 300h Hybrid
The Lexus UX occupies an important place in our lineup. Not only is it one of our best-selling luxury subcompact SUVs, but it’s also the most affordable Lexus in the entire roster, allowing shoppers near Port St. Lucie to experience the brand’s trademark comfort without breaking the bank.Â
For the 2025 model year, the Lexus UX got some serious upgrades, including a brand-new powertrain that packs a bigger punch without sacrificing gas mileage. So, what else is new in the Lexus UX? Read on to find out.Â
Lexus UX 300h Specs
The biggest change to the UX this year is that it now boasts the fifth-generation Lexus Hybrid System, providing more standard horsepower for a fun, responsive drive. The UX 300h replaces the UX 250h from last year.Â
The new setup consists of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine linked up to a pair of electric motors. The battery is now lithium-ion instead of nickel-metal hydride, and the system has an updated hybrid transaxle, allowing for more efficient flow of power to improve both acceleration and fuel economy.Â
In total, the system delivers a combined 196 net horsepower. All-wheel drive models are rated for 41 MPG combined, while the front-wheel drive UX 300h gets 43 MPG combined.Â
Lexus UX Colors and ExteriorÂ
Being in the subcompact class, the UX is designed for a perfect balance of SUV practicality and a carlike driving manner, making it maneuverable in tight city spaces without feeling cramped on the inside. It measures 177 inches in length and has a wheelbase of 103.9 inches.Â
The bodylines and spindle grille are designed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency to further improve gas mileage, and the rear fenders and spoiler add stability and reduce road noise on the highway. All models come standard with 18-inch run-flat tires, and there are five different wheel options available.Â
For 2025, Copper Crest has been added to the list of exterior colors. Other options include Obsidian, Caviar, Redline, Iridium, Cloudburst Gray, Grecian Water, Nori Green Pearl, Eminent White Pearl, Ultra White (F SPORT), and Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 (F SPORT).Â
Lexus UX Interior and Infotainment
Stepping inside the new UX 300h, the most striking difference from previous models is the new 12.3-inch digital information display, which is standard on the Premium and F SPORT grades and replaces the 7.0-inch display found in the base model. The F SPORT Handling model also gets a 12.3-inch center touch screen display and an available head-up display.Â
Infotainment features include the full range of available Lexus connected services, including Remote Connect, Service Connect, Safety Connect, and Drive Connect with Intelligent Assistant and Cloud Navigation. Bluetooth and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Autoâ„¢ are standard across all grades, and the cabin also features five USB ports.Â
The interior is designed to be as ergonomic as possible, with the center touch screen tilted toward the driver, redesigned interior controls, and a high seating position for better sightlines. It also features a wide range of aesthetic touches like NuLuxe®-trimmed seating and stylish Japanese-inspired dash trim.Â
Lexus UX Safety FeaturesÂ
Another major addition for 2025 is the introduction of the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which comes standard in all models. This suite of driver assistance tech updates preexisting features and introduces some new ones. The list includes:Â
- All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)Â
- Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection (includes Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist and Left Turn Oncoming Vehicle Detection/Braking)Â
