Exploring the Lexus EV and Hybrid Lineup

Lexus has plenty of excellent electric and hybrid vehicles right now. They fall into three categories: electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrid vehicles, and hybrid vehicles. Each one has its positives, and they all help you get where you need to go while saving you money at the gas pump. Let’s look at each of these electric and hybrid vehicles to find out what they have to offer.

Electric Vehicles

Lexus has just one fully electric vehicle right now, the 2025 Lexus RZ. Still, it’s a vehicle worth learning about.

2025 Lexus RZ

This vehicle is the first-ever fully electric Lexus. It comes in 300e and 450e grades, and each of these trims has different power and performance strengths.

The Lexus RZ 300e generates 201 horsepower, comes with standard front-wheel drive (FWD), and has a driving range of 266 miles. Meanwhile, the Lexus RZ 450e generates 308 horsepower, comes with standard all-wheel drive (AWD), and has a driving range of 196 miles. Both versions come with other components that improve performance, such as the eAxle, paddle shifters with a regenerative braking force selector, and five driving modes.

Plug-In Hybrids

As their name implies, these hybrids have to be plugged in periodically to charge their electric batteries. That’s different from other hybrids (described below), which recharge their batteries when their gas engines power the car, truck, or SUV. Additionally, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) use only their electric batteries for short trips and save the gas engine for longer excursions. Here are the plug-in hybrid vehicles in Lexus’s current electrified lineup, along with some of their highlights:

  • 2025 Lexus NX Plug-In Hybrid: The NX PHEV gets a combines 304 horsepower from its electric battery and gas motor, and it comes with all-wheel drive. It also has a 37-mile all-electric driving range, which is perfect for short trips. On top of that, it has an available F SPORT trim that has adaptive variable suspension and a heated steering wheel.
  • 2025 Lexus TX Plug-In Hybrid: This Lexus PHEV has a combined 404 horsepower and an all-electric driving range of 33 miles. It’s also built for comfort and storage, since it comes with heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs and has 97 cubic feet of cargo space.

Hybrids

This is the type of hybrid that most people are familiar with—it uses its electric battery to run at lower speeds, and then the gas motor takes over at higher speeds while also charging the vehicle’s battery. Lexus offer many models that fit within this type of hybrid, and they are:
